Welcome to CFP Prints: A Journey Through Light, Land, and Legacy

There’s a moment—when the shutter clicks and the light folds itself into the frame—where time becomes something you can hold. That moment is what CFP Prints exists to share.

Welcome

This space is more than an online store. It is a curated invitation into my world of fine art film photography—a space where craft, patience, and vision converge to create work that speaks not only to the eye, but also to the soul.

From the sweeping drama of African landscapes to the quiet poetry of forgotten places, each image you will find here began as a pursuit of the extraordinary within the everyday. Every print carries a story: a journey travelled, an atmosphere distilled, a piece of Africa’s visual heritage preserved.

The Art Behind the Lens

I work across a spectrum of photographic tools—medium format film cameras, 1920s-style large format view cameras, panoramic systems like the Fuji GX617, digital setups for certain commissions, and the whimsical simplicity of pinhole photography. Each choice is deliberate, each suited to the mood and intent of the subject.

For collectors, curators, and design professionals, this means every piece is not only an artwork, but also an object of craftsmanship. My process is slow by modern standards—carefully measured exposures, manual focusing on ground glass, film stocks selected for their unique tonal character. The resulting negatives are developed with the same meticulous approach, ensuring archival permanence before they are transformed into museum-quality prints or bespoke wallpapers.

What You’ll Discover Here

This blog will be a living journal—a behind-the-scenes narrative into the making of each piece, the journeys taken to capture them, and the philosophy guiding my work. Expect to find:

  • Field Notes — First-hand accounts from my photographic expeditions across Southern Africa, from snow-bound passes in the Ceres Karoo to the shifting sands of Namibia.

  • The Process — Insights into film handling, darkroom work, and archival presentation for collectors.

  • Artist’s Perspective — Reflections on visual storytelling, the role of silence in an image, and why analogue still holds a sacred place in the digital age.

  • Collector’s Guide — Practical knowledge on caring for fine art prints, understanding editions, and the value of investing in film-based African imagery.

  • Announcements & News — Exhibitions, special releases, and noteworthy collaborations.

For Collectors and Connoisseurs

If you are a collector of African fine art, an interior designer seeking unique statement pieces, or a curator searching for works that speak to both place and presence, CFP Prints was created with you in mind. Each print is prepared to the highest archival standards, signed, embossed, and accompanied by its provenance—ensuring that your investment is as enduring as the subject it portrays.

Join the Journey

The stories I share here will take you beyond the frame—into the early hours on frosted mountain roads, into the silence before a storm, and into the darkroom where light becomes tangible.

If you value authenticity, craft, and the rare beauty of film photography in an African context, I invite you to subscribe to my newsletter. No clutter, no spam—just occasional updates, exclusive previews, and insights into the art as it unfolds.

Welcome to CFP Prints. The journey begins here.

A First Glimpse

One of my recent sessions involved test shooting the Linhof 617 panoramic film camera in Rawsonville, South Africa—a region where vineyards stretch into mountains and the light folds itself over the valley like soft cloth. The results, still to be unveiled in a future post, are a reminder of why I choose this path: because the world still holds scenes that deserve to be captured slowly, deliberately, and with deep respect.
