Pretty In Purple
"Pretty In Purple, Namaqualand National Park, South Africa" - In the quiet stillness of South Africa’s Namaqualand National Park, where the land often lies dormant beneath sun-scorched skies, a fleeting miracle unfolds each spring. Pretty In Purple captures one such moment—a delicate lilac Heliophila coronopifolia, also known as Blue Flax, gracefully rising amidst a sea of white daisies and scattered patches of orange bloom. This image was taken during the brief yet spectacular flowering season that transforms the arid Northern Cape into a painter’s palette of botanical wonder.
Proverbs 31:-22
She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple
The composition feels almost ceremonial. The Blue Flax stands as though robed, its soft purple petals shielding a cluster of vibrant orange daisies—like a guardian in linen and royalty’s hue. The imagery calls to mind the noble attributes described in Proverbs 31:22: “She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple.” Here, nature echoes scripture. The flower, though slight in stature, speaks to quiet strength, feminine dignity, and seasonal abundance.
Captured digitally during a morning walk through Nieuwoudtville—revered as the bulb capital of the world—this portrait of floral harmony offers a contemplative counterpoint to the region’s otherwise austere terrain. Each element in the frame was fleeting, part of a bloom that lasts only weeks. Yet, for that brief time, the land sang with colour and life, as though creation itself were rejoicing.
Namaqualand’s magic lies not only in its visual splendour, but in its evanescence. Beneath the surface lies a profound narrative of resilience—how wildflowers, lying dormant for years, burst forth with vibrancy after just a few good rains. Pretty In Purple is a tribute to that quiet endurance and grace. It is a study in softness, in sacred femininity, and in the humble strength of beauty rooted in harsh ground.
Whether hung in a minimalist interior or a collector’s wall of African fine art, this print invites reflection and reverence. A photographic meditation, it speaks gently, yet profoundly, to the eye that knows how to see.
This is a signed and embossed Open Edition print.

The Collections

Every collection represents years of exploration, patience and careful craftsmanship. Some photographs are captured digitally, while others originate on traditional photographic film.
Film photographs are developed by hand before being scanned using professional equipment. Digital RAW files receive only careful tonal and colour refinement, preserving the integrity of the original photograph.
Collections are available as either Open Editions or Limited Editions, depending on the artwork.
The Triptych Collection Sizes

Triptych Size Guide
For Triptych Collection artworks, the selected size applies consistently across all three panels.
In compositions where the side panels are portrait and the centre panel is landscape, the selected size refers to the maximum height of the artwork. For example, when A3 is selected, the two portrait side panels are produced to the A3 long dimension, and the centre landscape panel is scaled proportionally to match that same height.
Where all three panels are landscape or all three are portrait, the selected format remains consistent throughout the set — A0 is A0, A1 is A1, A2 is A2 and A3 is A3. Sizes are not mixed between panels.
Available Triptych Collection sizes: A0, A1, A2 and A3.

Limited Editions
Limited Editions are permanently restricted to 25 prints worldwide, regardless of the size or medium selected.
Once the edition has sold out, no additional prints of that artwork will ever be produced.
Signing & Numbering
Every Open and Limited Edition print is individually signed, embossed and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
Each Limited Edition print is hand-numbered—for example: 10/25
This indicates the tenth print produced from a total edition of twenty-five.
The Photographic Process

Many CFP Prints artworks begin with traditional photographic film.
Each negative or transparency is developed by hand using carefully selected chemistry before being professionally scanned for printing. Every stage of the workflow is managed with the objective of faithfully reproducing the original photograph rather than digitally transforming it.
Every photograph represents a real moment, captured through experience, patience and light—not artificial intelligence.
