While Vineyards Sleep The World Turns

"While Vineyards Sleep the World Turns - Rawsonville, South Africa - As the last light of the moon fades over the valley, the earth breathes in stillness. In While Vineyards Sleep the World Turns, the familiar landscape of the Breedekloof Wine Valley transforms into a dreamscape of cosmic rhythm and earthly calm. The vineyards of Rawsonville, so often bustling with the quiet industry of viticulture, lie hushed beneath the velvet sky—rows of vines illuminated by the faint silver hush of a setting moon.

Above, the Milky Way unfurls in stately motion, painting arcs of light across the heavens in a time-lapse ballet of stars. The mountain beyond stands sentinel, its silhouette anchoring the composition like the keeper of a thousand seasons. This was no casual capture. An eight-minute exposure, taken during harvest season under a sliver of moonlight, it distills not just a moment, but a meditation—on time, toil, and transcendence.

Rawsonville is a place rich in contrast. A hidden village framed by the grandeur of the Western Cape, it harbours seventeen wine and brandy cellars within arm’s reach of each other. Here, the work of hands meets the artistry of the land, and the intimacy of human tradition rests beneath infinite skies. This photograph echoes that paradox—earthbound vines rooted in generational rhythm, while the heavens swirl endlessly overhead.

Ecclesiates 3:11

He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.

The verse from Ecclesiastes 3:11: “He has made everything beautiful in its time... He has put eternity in their hearts”—resonates deeply in this scene. There’s a divine tension here, between the fleeting and the eternal, the furrows of the field and the sweep of the stars. The vineyard sleeps, yes, but the world—God’s cosmos—keeps turning, unseen, vast, patient.

Astrophotography rarely finds its subject in agriculture, but this image dares to look where few do—to the poetic space where farming meets faith, and light meets longing. There is something deeply South African in this quiet grandeur, something universal in its stillness. It is a visual prayer.

While Vineyards Sleep the World Turns is more than a photograph—it’s a quiet reminder that in the solitude of night, far from the lights of cities and noise of industry, the soul can look up... and remember eternity.

This is a signed and embossed Open Edition print.

Every collection represents years of exploration, patience and careful craftsmanship. Some photographs are captured digitally, while others originate on traditional photographic film.

Film photographs are developed by hand before being scanned using professional equipment. Digital RAW files receive only careful tonal and colour refinement, preserving the integrity of the original photograph.

Collections are available as either Open Editions or Limited Editions, depending on the artwork.

The Triptych Collection Sizes

Triptych Size Guide

For Triptych Collection artworks, the selected size applies consistently across all three panels.

In compositions where the side panels are portrait and the centre panel is landscape, the selected size refers to the maximum height of the artwork. For example, when A3 is selected, the two portrait side panels are produced to the A3 long dimension, and the centre landscape panel is scaled proportionally to match that same height.

Where all three panels are landscape or all three are portrait, the selected format remains consistent throughout the set — A0 is A0, A1 is A1, A2 is A2 and A3 is A3. Sizes are not mixed between panels.

Available Triptych Collection sizes: A0, A1, A2 and A3.

Limited Editions

Limited Editions are permanently restricted to 25 prints worldwide, regardless of the size or medium selected.

Once the edition has sold out, no additional prints of that artwork will ever be produced.

Signing & Numbering

Every Open and Limited Edition print is individually signed, embossed and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

Each Limited Edition print is hand-numbered—for example: 10/25

This indicates the tenth print produced from a total edition of twenty-five.

Many CFP Prints artworks begin with traditional photographic film.

Each negative or transparency is developed by hand using carefully selected chemistry before being professionally scanned for printing. Every stage of the workflow is managed with the objective of faithfully reproducing the original photograph rather than digitally transforming it.

Every photograph represents a real moment, captured through experience, patience and light—not artificial intelligence.
